Spaceport

“The proposed Camden Spaceport site is located on the I-95 corridor next to the Atlantic Ocean and is surrounded by a large undeveloped buffer zone. Coastal Camden County, Georgia provides a nearly unrestricted launch range for the launch of spacecraft to a wide range of orbits. Orbital inclinations between 31° and 58° can be reached without the addition of costly propulsive maneuvers to change the orbital plane.” http://www.spaceportcamden.us/

Press Release
“Montague to Consult on Spaceport Camden

Clay Montague has agreed to work with Camden County as an environmental consultant for the spaceport. A resident of Camden County, Georgia native, and Associate Professor Emeritus at University of Florida, Montague will be Camden County’s main contact for expressing environmental fears about the spaceport. “All concerns are welcome,” Montague said “I plan to immediately assemble a committee of local environmental leaders, advocates, and scientists with the primary charge to make an effective presentation of concerns to submit to the Federal Aviation Administration.”
Montague has broad experience as an environmental scientist. He also has significant involvement with non-profit environmental organizations in Georgia and Camden County. Montague is a member of the Board of Directors of the Satilla RiverWatch Alliance, Inc. He was Interim Executive Director and Satilla Riverkeeper during 2012 and early 2013.
Montague brings a wide range of experience with coastal environmental impacts as a researcher, author of scientific papers, and consultant. These include management of navigation inlets, beach nourishment, oil spill damage assessment, animal damage control under pesticide use, large modifications to river drainage and canals, other dredge and fill operations, coastal wetland impoundments for mosquito control and waterfowl management, winter freezes in mangroves, sea level rise, ecotoxicology, and fate of beloved exotic animals on public lands.”

Clay is putting together a comprehensive, knowledgeable, and invested team of representatives, experts, and "stakeholders." We applaud the County for their willingness to openly invite in-depth environmental analysis by those who will be most impacted should this project come to fruition. http://www.thebrunswicknews.com/news/local_news/spaceport-subcommittee-to-address-environmental-concerns/article_3011d7eb-f662-5bba-aa1d-d437ad1f0ba3.html
